Analyze spending with ChatGPT and Claude

Export Budget AI data as CSV, attach it to a chat and ask questions about your income and expenses. Use ChatGPT, Claude or another AI that supports file uploads.

Before you start

  • Budget AI has transactions for the period you want to analyze.
  • Your chosen AI chat supports CSV file uploads.

Step by step

  1. Open data export

    You can export CSV from Budget AI settings or tap Share in Analytics. Use settings to prepare a new selection, or share from Analytics to use the filters you already have selected.

  2. Choose a period and export CSV

    Select the dates, accounts and categories you need. Include several full months if you want to compare monthly spending. When sharing from Analytics, check its current filters before tapping Share. In settings, choose the filters on the export screen and export the file.

  3. Attach the file to a chat

    Choose your AI app in the system share menu. You can also save the CSV, open ChatGPT, Claude or another AI and attach it to a new chat manually.

  4. Ask about your spending

    Start with a specific question: “Compare spending by month. Show the categories with the largest increases and how much they changed. Calculate each currency separately.”

    Continue in the same chat: explore one category, list large purchases or find recurring payments. Compare the totals with the selected period in Budget AI.

“Find payments that repeat each month. Show the name, dates, amounts and currency for each one. If the purpose is unclear, keep the name from the file.”
